Norwalk Community Hospital provides our community with a 24/7 paramedic-receiving, emergency department (ED) conveniently located on Bloomfield Avenue between Civic Center Drive and Foster Road.

While you can’t predict an emergency, if and when one does occur, our emergency physicians, nurses and support staff are committed to providing you with timely, personalized care. Our ED is often the initial point of care for our patients, so the welcome and treatment our patients receive is of utmost importance to us.

Emergency patients can take comfort in knowing that we are nationally ranked in patient safety, pulmonary services and GI treatment, in addition to achieving national recognition in treatment of heart failure, GI bleeds, bowel obstruction and respiratory failure in 2019.

At Norwalk Community Hospital, we are prepared to treat patients with a wide range of medical needs, including those with minor to critical illness or injury. If needed, our emergency physicians have immediate access to specialists.
